Live-In Care That Feels Like Home
Our Live-In Care service provides personalised, one-to-one support in the comfort and familiarity of your own home. With a carefully matched caregiver there to provide companionship, reassurance and everyday support, you can continue living life your way while maintaining your independence and routines.
What Is Live-In Care?
Live-in care provides ongoing support in your own home, allowing you to remain in familiar surroundings while receiving the help you need.
A carefully matched caregiver stays in your home and becomes a familiar, reassuring presence in your everyday life. Support is personalised around your routines, preferences and level of independence — rather than expecting you to fit around a set schedule.
How Does Live-In Care Work?
We Get to Know You
We start by learning about you — your care needs, routines, preferences, interests and what is important to you in everyday life.
We Match the Right Caregiver
We carefully match caregivers based on more than care needs. We consider personality, interests and compatibility, helping create a comfortable relationship built on trust.
Care Built Around Your Life
Your caregiver provides consistent support around your normal routines — from personal care and meals to companionship, household tasks, appointments and everyday activities.
What Can a Live-In Caregiver Help With?
Personal Care & Daily Living
Support with showering, dressing, grooming, mobility, meal preparation and maintaining comfortable daily routines.
Companionship & Home Support
Conversation, hobbies, light housekeeping, laundry and the reassurance of having a familiar caregiver nearby.
Outings & Staying Connected
Support with shopping, appointments, errands and outings, helping you stay connected with the people, places and activities that matter to you.
Care That Adapts to You
Your care can change as your needs change. We work around your preferences, routines and level of independence so support never feels one-size-fits-all.
Who Is Live-In Care Suitable For?
Live-in care can be ideal for older people or adults who want to remain safely and comfortably at home but need more consistent support throughout the day.
It may suit someone living alone, experiencing reduced mobility, recovering after illness or hospitalisation, living with dementia, or simply needing companionship and reassurance. It can also provide families with peace of mind knowing someone trusted is there.
The Benefits of Live-In Care
-
Continue living in familiar surroundings, close to your routines, memories and community, while receiving the support you need.
-
Receive one-to-one care from a carefully matched caregiver who gets to know your preferences, routines and what matters to you.
-
Enjoy regular companionship and reassurance at home, while giving family greater peace of mind knowing someone trusted is there.
Live-In Care vs Visiting Care
Live-In Care
A caregiver stays in your home, providing ongoing support, companionship and reassurance throughout your everyday routines. Live-in care is ideal when you need more consistent support or the security of having someone nearby.
Visiting / Hourly Care
A caregiver visits at arranged times to provide specific support such as personal care, meals, household tasks, appointments or companionship. This can be ideal when you only need support for a few hours at a time.
A Typical Day With Live-In Care
Every day is different because your care is built around you. Your caregiver works with your normal routines, preferences and lifestyle.
Your day might begin with support getting ready, breakfast and your morning routine. During the day, your caregiver can help with meals, household tasks, shopping, appointments, outings or simply spend time with you.
In the evening, they can help with dinner and your usual evening routine, while providing the reassurance of having someone familiar nearby.
There is no set “typical day” — your care is shaped around how you want to live.
What Does a Live-In Caregiver Need in Your Home?
-
The caregiver will need their own private bedroom with a comfortable bed and somewhere to keep their personal belongings. This gives them appropriate privacy and a place to rest when they are off duty.
-
Your caregiver will need reasonable access to the kitchen, bathroom and normal household facilities. Meal arrangements can be discussed with you and your family before care begins so everyone knows what to expect.
-
Live-in care means having a caregiver living in the home, but it does not mean they are actively working every minute of the day and night. Caregivers need appropriate breaks, rest and uninterrupted sleep. If regular waking-night support is required, we can discuss whether additional overnight care is more suitable.
Caregiver Matching
How We Match You with The Right Caregiver
At Hands of Time Caring, we believe the right caregiver is about more than skills and experience. Personality, interests, routines and compatibility matter too.
We take the time to get to know you before carefully matching you with a caregiver who is well suited to your personality, preferences and lifestyle. Our aim is to create a comfortable, trusting relationship with consistency at the heart of your care.
